STEP 1:
GO TO SETTINGS

 
Edit Settings Menu From the "Edit" menu on either the Buddy List® feature or IM window, select the "Settings" drop down menu item.

STEP 2:
SELECT EXPRESSIONS

 
Selecting Expressions Once you are in your settings, click on the "Expressions" tab.

STEP 3:
CHANGE THE PREFERENCE

 
Change the Preference Then all you have to do is select the 3rd or 4th option, and you're on your way to seeing all the creative buddy icons your friends and family have made. The 3rd preference ensures that you will only see Buddy Icons from people on your buddy list.
