The steps below may correct the problem: (Terminology is based on the most recent clients.)
Mac:
- Sign on.
- Go to Account Settings.
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Choose "Block All Users" from the Contact Mode popup menu.
- Click Save.
- Go to the Account Settings window again.
- Click the Privacy tab again.
- Choose your preferred Privacy setting from the Contact Mode popup menu.
- Click Save.
Windows:
- Sign on.
- Go to Privacy preferences.
- Choose "Block all users".
- Click Apply.
- Choose "Allow all users to contact me".
- Click OK.
