"startup.ocm failed due to error 31" error message
If you are getting the error message, "startup.ocm failed due to error 31," it is due to an outdated version of the file COMCTL32.DLL in your c:\windows\system directory. To correct the problem, either install a newer version of Internet Explorer or take the following steps:
- Go to the following web page: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q259/4/03.ASP.
- Download the "VC6RedistSetup_enu.exe" file.
- Run the downloaded file, and then run the "vcredist.exe" from the directory you chose to extract it to.
